The Help

"The Help" turned out to be a touching drama. The acting is amazing, as Skeeter (Emma Stone) seems to be the only white woman who knows right from wrong when it comes to the housemaids helping out white families and she makes touching gestures to make sure their stories are heard. Aibileen (Viola Davis) is one of the housemaids who cared for many different families' children and after losing her own child, decided her experiences need to be known. Minny (Octavia Spencer) is a fiesty, comical woman who will make you laugh out loud with her expressions and stories. The way the housemaids are treated is sickening, and Hilly Holbrook (Bryce Dallas Howard), the leader of the housewives, does a great job at making you completely dislike her. The racism in "The Help" will break your heart, but the loving gestures by the kind people without prejudice in their hearts will leave you with a smile.
