Page a Day Calendar

I bought a daily tear off calendar at Borders around the holidays, and never realized how much I would enjoy tearing off the daily pages. I have always had a love for fashion and learning as much as I can about designers, but this calendar really starts me off on the right foot every day when I read the histories of iconic items or fashion mishaps.

For instance, take day February 18, 2011 (Yes, I actually have saved a few pages from the calendar because the entries are intriguing): "Object of Desire: Quilted Chanel bag: Its stitched diamond pattern (inspired by the quilting on jockeys' riding jackets) and chain strap (which allowed women to sling it over one shoulder–a  novelty in 1955) looks fabulous with a suit or cocktail dress, but even more so with jeans and a t-shirt. In 2005, Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld reissued the style, naming it the 2.55 bag, after is debut month and year."

This fun calendar ($13, Amazon) is fun to read and you can pass on the knowledge to your friends.
